Started with a sketch on recycled paper
Back in 2011, we opened shop in a converted warehouse on Granville with one solid belief - buildings shouldn't fight their environment, they should dance with it. Yeah, that sounds a bit poetic, but honestly that's how we see it.
What began as three architects sharing a drafting table has grown into a full studio, but we've kept that same energy. Every project still starts with understanding the land, the light, the way wind moves through a space. Can't design something meaningful without knowing what you're working with first.
We're not chasing trends
Look, sustainable design isn't some checkbox exercise for us. It's literally in everything we do - from picking lumber suppliers to calculating sun angles on a Tuesday in March. We've spent years getting to know BC's climate, its materials, what actually works here versus what just looks good in magazines.
Our team's gotten pretty good at blending contemporary aesthetics with serious environmental performance. That means your space looks incredible AND your heating bill doesn't make you cry. Win-win, right?

Nature's been doing this longer than us
Here's what we've figured out after years in this business - the natural world has already solved most design problems. Passive cooling? Ventilation? Structural efficiency? Nature's been beta-testing these concepts for millions of years.
So we study it, learn from it, and translate those principles into buildings that feel right. Not in some hippie-dippy way (though no judgment there), but in a way that's practical, beautiful, and honestly just makes sense when you think about it.

We've got folks who trained at UBC, SFU, and a couple international programs. Our senior architects have been at this for 20+ years, while our younger crew brings fresh perspectives and honestly keeps us from getting too stuck in our ways.
Everyone here is legitimately passionate about sustainable design - it's not just a job description thing. We've got LEED-certified specialists, heritage restoration experts, and people who geek out over thermal bridging calculations. Takes all types to make this work.

Every morning we show up knowing that what we design today will shape how people live, work, and interact with their environment for decades. That's not lost on us. It's a responsibility we take seriously, but also one that gets us excited to tackle each new challenge.
